Heyo and Happy New Year!

I hope you’ve arrived well in 2021 despite all the difficulties. 2020 was a year that people were tested with the pandemic. We have lived through lockdown, stayed away from family, friends and anyone. We gave ourselves hope in the uncertainties. We were taking from ourselves that the power of live and the power of improve despite everything.

Maybe, in this way, we learned how strong we are.

We don’t know when, or if, might return to normal or what kind of scars the pandemic will leave. But we have a hope that we’ll go back to the old good days.

Long story short, 2020 were very different year for me as everyone. And I hope 2021 is a brand new year and I hope it will be great for everyone.

In this article I’ll share a list of suggestions for you from what I read and watched last year.

Here are my suggestions for you and I hope you enjoy!

Books

  • Flow — Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi: Did you know that happiness is a science? Well, it relationship with motivation? So, I mean that both of them can be controlled things. Especially in this period when we survive our emotional world, don’t be late to read.
  • The Power of Habit — Charles Duhigg: Another book to know ourselves better. Don’t say that it’s only habit, this book mention that we can create our new version with the new habits.
  • Digital Minimalism — Cal Newport: When we have lived though lockdown, we have hugged the phone, tablet or pc. Maybe there were same before but especially this situation peaked in this period. We scroll down on social media apps when we were alone. We escape the solitude because we didn’t think it will be good.
  • Guy Kawasaki — The Art of the Start 2.0: Maybe in this period you also thought that your job was not for you. Maybe time to start your own business. If you want to learn about end to end entrepreneur, you can start with this book.
  • Presence — Amy Cuddy: Confidence in ourselves, attitude towards any difficulty in life and after all the falls in life, stand up over and over again. If you haven’t watched author’s TED video yet, you can watch before reading the book.

Documentaries

  • The Game Changers: Although the documentary tells the subject through athletes, the subject concerns everyone. As the world gets dirty, the importance of herbal nutrition increases day by day.
  • 100 Humans Netflix: This documentary that make with 100 person about human behavior. Wrong things what we know true, our prejudgment, our choices, differences among generations etc. The production will improve your perspective of life and make you undertand how humans behave.
  • Abstract: The Art of Design: It is really an inspiring documentary. It is taking the subject the designers who known at all around the world, and their life.
  • Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things: “Collect memories not things.” If you want to have freedom a little bit, maybe time to be minimalist. But firstly, you should meet the meaning of real minimalism. Because minimalism doesnt mean being unfurnished.
  • The Great Hack: Although the documentary about the Cambridge Analytica scandal, this documentary is mainly based on connections with digital data and manipulation.
